Brown’s Piece, secured for the community — forever
Wotton Community Land Trust Ltd is delighted to announce the successful purchase of Brown’s Piece, a cherished green space on the edge of Wotton-under-Edge. This marks a major milestone in local conservation and community action.
Wonderful news, WCLT has purchased Brown’s Piece
Thanks to your support and generosity Wotton Community Land Trust is now six months into community ownership of Brown’s Piece. The improved footpath is the most visible change, but we have also carried out tree safety work and are exploring reopening the link path up the hill as well as installing signage and beginning to tackle the Japanese knotweed on the site. We hope you’ve had the chance to visit and see the progress being made.
A big thanks to our volunteers and supporters and the following organisations whose grants have enabled this to happen: Gloucestershire CC, Stroud DC, Friends of the Cotswolds, Cotswold National Landscapes and the Summerfield Charitable Trust.

Wotton Community Land Trust Ltd (WCLT Ltd) was established to reclaim land at Brown’s Piece for the community by buying it and looking after it for climate, nature and everyone who lives, works or visits here.
Our wider mission is to acquire and nurture land for the long-term benefit of our community.
